Final Vimly Claim Submission & New BPA Claim Filing Timeline

Claims Blackout Period: May 26 – June 30, 2025

Here is what to expect between now and July 1 related to claims submission & payment

Effective July 1, 2025, IAFF MERP will transition from Vimly Benefit Solutions to Benefit Programs Administration (BPA) for plan administration.

To help you prepare, please review the following important updates regarding claim submission:

Key Dates: May & June 2025

  • May 25, 2025: Final day to submit claims to Vimly (for June payment)
  • June 13, 2025: Last Vimly benefit payment (for claims submitted by May 25)

After May 25, Vimly will no longer accept claims. The SIMON portal upload feature will be disabled.

Claims Blackout Period: May 26 – June 30, 2025

  • Claims submission will be temporarily paused.
  • Please hold your claims during this period. Additional instructions will be shared soon.

New Claims Filing Timeline (Effective July 1, 2025)

  • BPA begins accepting claims: July 1, 2025
  • Submit claims by July 5 → Payment on July 25

This monthly cadence will continue moving forward: Submit by the 5th → Paid on the 25th

(If the 25th falls on a weekend or holiday, payment will be made the next business day.)

Any June (or other) eligible medical expenses and premiums submitted after July 5th can be submitted by August 5th in order to be paid August 25th.

We will provide additional guidance on how to submit claims to BPA ahead of July 1.

Direct Deposit Note:
If you currently receive your benefit via direct deposit, your information will transfer to BPA automatically.
No action is needed unless your banking details have changed.

Recurring Premium Reimbursement Claims

If you have a recurring premium reimbursement claim already set up with Vimly for the 2025 plan year:

  • No need to re-submit the claim form to BPA
  • You will still need to submit monthly premium verification to receive payment
